2014 Blog 167: Old Leather Wallet

Awhile ago, I have debated whether I should toss away my old pocket leather wallet, which kinda look like a man’s wallet, but not really. It is the rectangular wallet that folds into square. No, it is not a man’s wallet. I wanted to toss it away so that I can start using my brand new long lady wallet where all my stuff fits in an organized manner. I actually started using the new one. It was not so bad. I just felt it was so huge. Then, on some occasions when I wanted to run away without a handbag, and therefore without the long wallet, I started using my old wallet again. I thought, it is ok to use it for the light runs I want to do… just my driver’s license, a credit card, a debit card, and some cash. Then little by little, I started adding more. Well, days have gone by, and things have started to creep in. Today, officially, all my stuff are in back into my old wallet. I tried. I tried to change. But sometimes, the old simple ways do not have to change. That’s it. I will stick to my old little leather wallet.

2014 Blog 022: The Wallet

One of the christmas presents I received was a lady’s wallet which seemed so huge to me. Anyway, I thought I should give it a try. Just because the old one is getting so tight for the abundance of cards that I now have. I have the basics.. the driver’s license, a medical card, a road assistance card, a bank card, and a credit card. Then I have the library card, the Costco card, and all other membership and rewards card. Then! I have gift cards that I got from last christmas! Ugh. I am glad that some rewards are now accessible by phone numbers so I can toss away those out of my wallet. But there is still a lot. Too many. I feel it’s too heavy for me. It’s a weight I don’t want to carry everyday. Before today, I was using a small wallet and have just been bringing the basics for so long. But the problem with that is I have been in situations where I needed the numbers and I just don’t have it. I can’t wait when I can just tap them all from my phone. I feel that having all these cards is just a heavy clutter. For now, I just want to live simple. So maybe, I should just get back to my old small wallet. And just live with what I can put in. It just seems more ideal.
